Advanced Posts

The Advanced Posts widget allows you to display a list of any post types, including custom post types, in various layouts and ways. This practical widget can be used to showcase posts from a particular category or other taxonomy, recent posts, and more.

Content Tab

Layout

  • General Layout: Choose the overall layout style for your posts. The 'Grid' option arranges posts in a grid format.
  • Content Layout: Select where to position the content relative to the image. 'Content Under Image' stacks the text below the image.
  • Columns: Determine the number of columns for your post grid. Setting it to '3' divides the grid into three columns.
  • Media Aspect Ratio: Adjust the aspect ratio of the images in your posts, with '0.63' representing a ratio close to 5:8 (portrait).
  • Media Position: Set the alignment of the media within its container, such as 'Center Center' for a centered position.
  • Image Resolution: Choose the resolution of the images. 'Large - 1024 x 1024' specifies a large square size.
  • Equal Columns Height: Toggle this to 'Yes' to ensure all columns are of equal height, regardless of content length.
  • Block Hover: Decide if any hover effects should be applied to the posts. 'None' means no hover effects will be displayed.
  • Featured Image Hover: Select an effect for when the mouse hovers over featured images. 'Zoom & Move' will cause the image to enlarge and move slightly.
  • Load Effect: Choose an effect for the post loading action. 'Fade In' will make posts appear gradually.
  • Author Spotlight: Set this to 'Yes' to highlight the post author's information.

Settings

  • Title HTML Tag: Specify the HTML tag for post titles. 'H3' sets it as a heading level 3.
  • Meta Position: Decide where to place the meta information relative to the title, such as 'Before Title'.
  • Featured Image: Toggle 'Show' to display the post's featured image.
  • Post Title: Toggle 'Show' to make the title of the post visible.
  • Date: Toggle 'Show' to display the date the post was published.
  • Date Type: Choose what type of date to display, for instance, 'Published Date'.
  • Date Format: Select the format for the date display, like 'March 6, 2023'.
  • Author: Toggle between 'Show' and 'Hide' to display or hide the author's name.
  • Categories: Toggle 'Hide' to not display the post categories.
  • Tags: Toggle 'Show' to display the post tags.
  • Comments: Toggle to 'Hide' if you wish to hide the number of comments.
  • Excerpt: Toggle 'Show' to include a summary excerpt of the post.
  • CTA Button: Toggle 'Hide' to remove the Call-To-Action button.
  • Pagination: Toggle 'Show Pagination' to enable page numbers for navigating posts.
  • Sortable: Set 'Show Sortable' to 'No' to disable the sorting feature for posts.

Query

  • Posts per Page: Enter the number of posts you want to show per page, '6' for six posts, for example.
  • Is Archive Template: Toggle 'No' if this is not a template for an archive page.
  • Source: Select the source of the posts, such as 'Posts' to pull from the blog posts.
  • Posts: Specify individual posts to include by entering their IDs.
  • Categories: Enter categories to query posts from those specific categories.
  • Tags: Specify tags to display posts associated with these tags.
  • Authors: Include posts by specific authors by entering their IDs.
  • Ignore Sticky Posts: Set to 'Yes' if you want to ignore sticky posts in your query.

Sort & Filter

  • Order By: Choose the criteria for ordering your posts, such as by 'Date'.
  • Order: Select the direction of the sorting, 'DESC' for descending.
  • Offset: Input a number to skip over a certain number of posts, '0' to start from the first post.
  • Excludes: Add specific posts to exclude from the query, such as the 'Current Post'.

Style Tab

Block

  • Column Spacing: Set the space between columns, '35' for example, to provide spacing of 35 pixels.
  • Row Spacing: Adjust the space between rows in pixels.
  • Background Color Type: Choose between a classic color or a gradient for the block background.
  • Background Color: Pick a color for the block background.
  • Border Type: Select the type of border, such as 'Default', 'Solid', 'Dotted', etc.
  • Border Radius: Define the radius for the corners of the block to control curve sharpness.
  • Box Shadow: Apply a shadow to the block for a 3D effect.

Content

  • Alignment: Set the alignment of the content within the block (left, center, right).
  • Padding: Adjust padding to increase or decrease the space inside the block.

Featured Image

  • Width: Set the width of the featured images as a percentage.
  • Spacing: Manage the space around the image (top, right, bottom, left).
  • Alignment: Choose the alignment of the image within the block.
  • Opacity: Adjust the opacity to make the image more or less transparent.
  • Border: Define the border color, type, and radius.

Post Title

  • Typography: Customize the font, size, weight, transform, style, decoration, line-height, and letter spacing.
  • Spacing: Set the spacing around the post title.
  • Alignment: Choose the alignment for the post title.
  • Color: Select the color of the post title text.

Meta

  • Typography: Adjust the typography settings for the meta text.
  • Meta Divider: Choose a symbol to divide meta elements, like a slash or dot.
  • Divider Spacing: Set the spacing around the divider.
  • Padding: Control the padding around the meta information.
  • Margin: Adjust the margin to increase or decrease the external space around the meta block.
  • Alignment: Set the alignment for the meta text.
  • Color: Choose the color of the meta text.
  • Links Color: Select the color for the links in the meta section.

Excerpt

  • Excerpt Length: Control the number of words in the excerpt, such as '18'.
  • Typography: Customize the typography for the excerpt.
  • Spacing: Adjust the spacing around the excerpt.
  • Alignment: Set the alignment of the excerpt text.
  • Color: Choose the color for the excerpt text.

Author Spotlight

  • Name: Style the author's name with typography options.
  • Color: Select the color for the author's name.
  • Typography: Customize the typography settings for the author's name.
  • Gap: Adjust the space between the author's name and image.
  • Padding: Set the padding around the author spotlight section.
  • Image Size: Choose the size of the author's image.
  • Divider: Style the divider with color and weight options.

Tags

  • Items Gap: Set the space between tag items.
  • Rows Gap: Adjust the space between rows of tags.
  • Alignment: Choose the alignment for the tags.
  • Typography: Customize the typography for the tags.
  • Text Color: Select the color for the tag text.
  • Border: Define the border type and radius for tags.
  • Box Shadow: Apply a shadow to the tag items.
  • Padding: Adjust the padding inside the tag items.
