Understanding The Legacy Page Builder WPBakery

As of the 2018 update, Jupiter X has transitioned to using Elementor as its primary page builder, enhancing our theme with more advanced features and greater flexibility. Prior to this update, WPBakery was the primary page builder. While we have moved to Elementor, we recognize the importance of supporting our long-time users who may still be using WPBakery or have legacy content created with it.

WPBakery as a Legacy Tool

WPBakery Page Builder, formerly known as Visual Composer, is a drag-and-drop page builder that was once the backbone of many WordPress sites, including those built with Jupiter v6 and earlier version. As a legacy page builder in Jupiter:

  • Legacy Status: WPBakery is no longer the primary page builder in Jupiter X but it remains a functional builder for editing and managing older content.
  • Ongoing Updates: We continue to provide updates for WPBakery within Jupiter X to ensure security and compatibility with the latest WordPress versions.

Guidance for WPBakery Users

If you're managing sites or content that was originally created using WPBakery, here are some basic guidelines:

  • Managing Old Content: You can edit existing pages using WPBakery without any issues. However, for new websites, we recommend using Elementor.
  • Donut Plugin: If you prefer to migrate your WPBakery-based content to Jupiter X and continue editing with WPBakery, the Donut plugin facilitates this process.
