A Complete Guide to Jupiter X Bundled Plugins

In this comprehensive guide, we explore the bundled plugins that come with the Jupiter X WordPress theme. These plugins are essential to unlock the full potential of Jupiter X, enabling you to utilize all its advertised features and demos. Let's dive into the details of each plugin, ensuring you don't miss anything critical to setting up your website successfully.

Required Plugins

Jupiter X Core Plugin

  • Purpose: Acts as the backbone of the Jupiter X theme, offering core functionalities, Elementor widgets, and other vital components of the theme.
  • Note: Without this essential plugin, Jupiter X functions merely as a basic theme lacking the advanced features that set it apart.

Elementor

  • Functionality: Jupiter X enriches the Elementor page builder with additional features and web-building widgets, enhancing your ability to craft your site using a user-friendly drag-and-drop interface.
  • Important: The absence of Elementor limits you to using the WordPress native block editor, restricting the advanced design capabilities offered by Jupiter X. Currently, Jupiter X does not support widgets for the WordPress block editor.

SellKit for WooCommerce

  • Relevance: This plugin is crucial for creating an online store with WooCommerce integration.
  • Key Points:
    • Developed by our team, SellKit aims to optimize and automate WooCommerce sales and conversions.
    • Jupiter X users receive free access to SellKit Pro, which is otherwise a paid feature on getsellkit.com.
    • Activation Steps for SellKit Pro:
      1. Navigate to SellKit > License on your WordPress dashboard.
      2. Click the “Connect & Activate” button.
      3. Sign up or log into your existing account.
      4. You’ll be prompted to enter your Envato purchase key for Jupiter X.
      5. Note: An Envato license for Jupiter X allows SellKit Pro registration on a single site. Additional sites require more Envato licenses or a SellKit subscription.

Advanced Custom Fields

This plugin becomes necessary under specific circumstances, such as choosing to disable Simplicity mode, which might be a requirement for sites built with older versions of JupiterX. Additionally, if you have implemented a template that relies on this plugin, its installation becomes essential. However, for most new sites crafted with JupiterX v3+ in mind, Advanced Custom Fields may not be needed to access the full range of advertised features and functionalities of JupiterX.

Optional Plugins

Advanced Custom Fields PRO

  • Offers advanced functionality for creating custom fields for posts. It's particularly useful for developers and experts crafting custom websites. Jupiter X dynamic tags within Elementor fully support this plugin.

Jet Engine

  • Enables the creation of listing websites, custom post types, taxonomies, and more, leveraging various WordPress APIs. Although not dependent on it, Jupiter X utilizes Jet Engine in some templates for listing and booking sites, which will get installed and activated upon template import.

Slider Plugin Trio: Slider Revolution, Master Slider, LayerSlider WP

  • Widely adopted by over a million websites, these plugins are your go-to for interactive sliders with advanced animations and timelines not covered by the built-in Jupiter X widgets.
  • Consideration: Extra plugins can adversely affect site performance and maintenance. Evaluate their benefits against the potential drawbacks carefully.
  • Support: Basic customer support and auto-updates are available, but advanced assistance or customizations may require purchasing a license directly from the plugin vendors.

Legacy Plugins

With the release of Jupiter X v3+, certain plugins previously featured as core functionalities have been categorized as legacy. These include Jet Elements, Jet Blog, Jet Popup, among others, and are still available for download for sites built around these plugins. However, for JupiterX v3+ builds, we advise against installing these due to feature overlap.

  • Important: We continue to support these legacy plugins with auto-updates via the Jupiter X updates panel. For new sites built with Jupiter X v3+, utilizing the core plugin suffices without the need for these legacy options.

How to Install Required Plugins?

After activating the Jupiter X theme in your WordPress dashboard, you'll notice a prompt to install and activate the required plugins. This is a one-click process that simplifies the setup. If WooCommerce is already installed and activated, the setup will also include installing SellKit and SellKit Pro. Should you add WooCommerce later, a similar prompt will guide you to install these plugins effortlessly. Alternatively, these plugins can be manually downloaded and installed by logging into your account at my.artbees.net/downloads.

How to Install Optional and Legacy Plugins?

For optional and legacy plugins, the process diverges from the automatic one-click installation. To install these, you must visit my.artbees.net/downloads, where you can manually download and then install them from the WordPress dashboard under Plugins > Add New. This approach is taken to prevent the inadvertent installation of all bundled plugins, which can lead to reduced site performance. It is crucial to install these plugins only if they fulfill a specific need on your website.

How to Update Bundled Plugins?

Most bundled plugins can be updated using WordPress's native update mechanism, accessible via Dashboard > Updates and the Plugins page. For a streamlined update process of the Jupiter X theme and all bundled plugins, navigate to Jupiter X > Dashboard, then hover over the Maintenance tab and click on Update. Note that the group of Jet Plugins requires updates through the Jupiter X update page, as they do not support native auto-updates. For more detail, refer to this article.

Jupiter X Updates Page

If the new version notice appears in the plugins page of your Artbees portal but not in the Jupiter X updates panel, it indicates that the package has not yet been released on our servers. There can be a delay of several days, or sometimes longer, before we release updates for third-party plugins.

Customer Support for Bundled Plugins

We are committed to providing customer support for both in-house developed and third-party bundled plugins:

  1. In-house plugins (e.g., Jupiter X core, SellKit): Full support is available, including acceptance of feature requests.
  2. Third-party plugins: While we cannot accommodate feature requests or offer detailed customization assistance for these, we are available to help with usage queries, conflict resolution, and bug reporting. Bug reports for third-party plugins are forwarded to their respective developers, although we cannot promise specific timelines for fixes.

By following these guidelines, you should find managing the plugins bundled with Jupiter X smoothing and straightforward, ensuring your site benefits from all the theme's features and functionalities. If you encounter any issues or have further questions, our support team is here to assist you.
