How to Create Anchor Links in JupiterX

Anchor links can make navigating long web pages a breeze for your visitors. Here's a simple guide to creating them on your JupiterX powered site:

What are Anchor Links?

Anchor links are handy tools that allow your users to jump to specific sections within a page. They are great for improving the user experience on pages with a lot of content.

Creating an Anchor Link

To create an anchor link, follow these steps:

  1. Open the page you are editing with Elementor.
  2. Click on the widget, section, or container you want to link to.
  3. Go to the Advanced tab in the Elementor panel.
  4. Find the CSS ID field and type in a unique name for your anchor. Remember:
    • Keep it simple and relevant to the content of the section.
    • Use only letters, numbers, hyphens, and underscores.
    • Do not start with a # symbol. We only use this when linking to the anchor.
    • For example, you might use “services” for a section that details the services offered.

Linking to the Anchor

Once you've set an anchor, you can create a hyperlink that will take users directly to that spot:

  1. Highlight the text or select the element that you want to turn into a link.
  2. Click on the link icon that appears (it looks like a chain link).
  3. In the link field:
    • If the anchor is on the same page, type # followed by the anchor name you set earlier (e.g., #services).
    • If it's on a different page, include the full URL followed by # and the anchor name (e.g., https://www.mysite.com/about-us#team).

Tips for Using Anchor Links

  • Consistency: Make sure each anchor name is unique on the page.
  • Clarity: Use names that clearly indicate what the section is about, making it easier to remember and manage.
  • Testing: Always test your anchor links to ensure they work correctly.

By following these simple steps, you’ll enhance your website's navigation, making it much smoother for your visitors to find the information they need.
